An image from my recent series “A Blue Flower”

The concept of photography as craft is the central ethos of my fine art practice. Moving away from the ubiquity and mass production of imagery being seen in contemporary approaches to photography, my practice sees a re-connection with the ideologies of the craftsman, creating work that is not simply images on a screen - or even on paper - but art objects in their own right.

Using my own hand built 20”x24” view camera, I create one of a kind wet collodion ruby ambrotypes, as well as prints from ultra large format film negatives.

I am currently focusing on portrait commissions at the moment, both in studio settings and on location, with many projects in development.
